The number of housing units in our communities is woefully inadequate. Only 20% of needs are being met. The remainder needs to be built or renovated. The financial needs for housing in Quebec\u2019s First Nations communities are estimated at over $4 billion.

This situation has an impact on the quality of life, academic success and retention of young people in our communities. In other words, it\u2019s a stumbling block to our culture.

The Manikaso Centre\u2019s role is to put in place conditions conducive to housing development among First Nations by providing awareness, education and support activities.
